Welcome to Southern New Hampshire University IT480a.
Greetings! This is a very exciting course of study to undertake. The rapidly changing world of information technology has huge impacts on business practices today and promises to have even more impact in the future.
We will explore Blogs and Wikis. You will also learn some fundamental principles of web design and work with a web creation personal productivity tool, FrontPage 2003. You will be developing, posting, and managing web sites on the SNHU IT web server. In addition, you will study 'fuzzy logic' expert systems, an important aspect of soft computing.
Soft computing is an emerging trend in information technology that has many important business applications. There is a fair amount computer work associated with this course. And, as in other Three Year Honors program courses, you take primary responsibility for your own learning and for budgeting your time. I expect you to actively participate in this class and I expect the highest quality work from you as honors students.
Weekly reading assignments are on the syllabus which is posted in the Syllabus page of our Blackboard class. The specific deliverables (and other readings) can be found posted in the Assignments page of this Blackboard class.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns. I look forward to an exciting 6 weeks together! RHS
